Why We’re Betting on AI + Hospitality

Liam Jackson

The hospitality industry has always been about human connection. It’s built on ambiance, service, experience — and, more than ever, on efficiency and adaptability. But while nearly every major industry has seen a wave of intelligent automation over the past decade, hospitality has remained largely analog, reactive, and fragmented.
We believe that’s about to change.
At SuperDJ, we're not just building an AI DJ. We're building a new layer of intelligence for the environments people gather in — starting with music, but going much further.
The Gap Between Tech and Atmosphere
Ask any venue owner, and they’ll tell you: success depends on more than food or drink. It’s the feeling people have when they walk in. Music, lighting, energy, pace — all of it creates a vibe that can’t be left to chance. And yet, most venues still rely on static playlists, manual adjustments, or trial-and-error scheduling.
Meanwhile, these same venues are using data-rich systems for POS, staffing, inventory, and bookings. The intelligence is there — it’s just not connected to the experience.
That’s the opportunity we see: a smarter, more adaptive hospitality layer that responds to real-time conditions and business goals.
Why Start With Music?
Music is the most emotionally immediate lever you can pull in a space. It sets tone, influences behavior, affects dwell time, and — most importantly — impacts sales. The right track at the right time doesn’t just sound good; it drives revenue.
But music is also complex. It requires taste, timing, and a deep understanding of context. That’s why it’s been so difficult to automate well — until now.
By combining reinforcement learning, crowd modeling, and real-time data from POS and other sensors, SuperDJ makes music reactive, strategic, and aligned with what the business actually needs.
This is our wedge: a system that feels creative, but performs operationally.
Beyond DJing: Adaptive Hospitality
While we’re starting with music, we don’t believe SuperDJ’s future is limited to audio. Our long-term vision is broader: a platform for adaptive hospitality environments.
Imagine a system that can:
Adjust lighting and layout based on crowd density
Trigger promotional offers based on live sales trends
Modulate music, tone, and temperature in sync with pacing
Create personalized experiences at scale
This is where AI shines—not in replacing humans, but in augmenting every decision with better context, better timing, and better outcomes.
A Platform for Venues, Not Just DJs
We’re building SuperDJ to be an operating layer for physical spaces. We want venue operators to spend less time worrying about mood management, and more time delivering great service. We want their spaces to adapt, respond, and optimize themselves in real time.
And we’re starting with the lever that’s already in the room: music.
Where We’re Headed
We’re currently pre-launch and working with early partners who share our vision for what intelligent hospitality could look like. The results so far are promising — not just in performance, but in reframing how operators think about the role of atmosphere in their business.
Building the world's best computerized DJ is our first step. What we’re really building is a future where venues are no longer passive spaces—they’re responsive systems, tuned for both human experience and business outcomes.
If that sounds like the future you want to be part of, we’d love to talk.
